Fashion Week Spring 2010
September 17th, 2009Fashion Week is wrapping up in Bryant Park, so what are the latest jewelry trends? Here’s what we’re seeing…
1. Green Jewelry - Designers are jumping on the all-things-natural bandwagon with a trend toward more natural and organic looking materials like this wire wrapped cloudy quartz piece seen at the Tory Burch show.
2. Bling is the Thing – Even some of the most organic pieces are taken to the next level with a touch (or more) of sparkle. I guess even Michael Kors thinks that a little sparkle is a good thing!
3. Go Big or Go Home – Chunky is back! We love chunky pieces, they make a statement and get us out of our comfort zone. This statement piece seen at the Catherine Malandrino show epitomizes the chunky, funky trend this year.
4. Multiplicity - Multiple necklaces, mixing and matching colors and textures and piles upon piles of bracelets are everywhere. Makes the morning decisions easy – wear everything you have!
Milly is showing a large collection of chains with a single focal point – brilliant!
5. The Long Haul – The long necklace is back! We’re seeing everything from 24 inchers that flatter your blouses, to opera length beaded beauties. Oscar de la Renta brings a touch of whimsy to a classic look with this opera length dazzler.
Those are the big trends we saw this week. We’d love to hear about your favorite finds this year!

Wow! Love to see the latest in beaded jewelry. Where can I go to see your wedding stuff? My weddings coming up and I’m trying to think of something for my bridesmaids.
Congratulations, Helen! Thanks for stopping in. The best local place to view the wedding collection from The Beading Factory right now is at Madeleine’s Daughter in Portsmouth. They have lots of things in inventory and we work with them all the time to customize things for brides and their entourage. If Portsmouth isn’t convenient, pop me an email and we’ll work something out, ok? All the best to you! Gail, Owner/Head Designer, The Beading Factory. gail@webead4u.com
